Former Kirkwood High School football star and NFL player, Jeremy Maclin, will return to his roots this football season as the new assistant coach of the Pioneers.
After playing college football at the University of Missouri-Columbia and then in the NFL for the Eagles, Chiefs and Ravens, Maclin ended his pro career after the 2017 NFL season due to injuries.
The successful wide receiver announced his official retirement from the NFL in March of this year and has told various sources that he always wanted to coach, and more than that, to give back to up-and-coming players in the place where it all started for him.
Maclin returned to St. Louis in June with his wife and daughter, Jett Rose Maclin, who was born this past April. His cousin, Jairus (Jay) Maclin, is a rising star on the Pioneers.
Maclin will begin his high school coaching career at Lyons Stadium Friday, Aug. 30, at 7 p.m., at the opening game of the season.
