The Missouri Athletic Club hosted current and former members of the armed forces on Oct. 19 to celebrate the 244th birthday of the U.S. Navy. The event, presented by the Navy League of the United States St. Louis Council and the United States Transportation Command Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, was done up with full military ceremony, including the posting of the colors, POW/MIA recognition, and even a piping ‘mess call’. The special guest for the evening was Admiral Philip S. Davidson, Commander, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command. Proceeds from the evening benefited programs of the Navy League that support youth and expose young people to the values of sea services.
