Guests of the St. Louis Press Club gathered in the atrium at the Edward Jones Headquarters for drinks, dinner and musical performances before heading into the auditorium to celebrate the recipients of this year’s media awards. The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Barry Petersen of CBS. Sarah Bryan Miller and Robert A. Cohn received the print awards, Spencer Koch and David Murray were the television awardees, Carol Daniel and Ron Elz were honored for their radio work and Dan Farrell for public relations. Mike Bush served as the Master of Ceremonies for the evening. 

Proceeds from the annual awards gala benefit the club’s journalism and communications scholarships and internships, as well as grants for investigative journalism. Co-chairs for the event were William Greenblatt, St. Louis Press Club president, and Thomas Eschen, former president of the St. Louis Press Club. Honorary chairpersons included: Cynthia Brinkley, Miran Halen, Debra Hollingsworth, Mark Stacey, Marylen Mann, Frank Jacobs, and Tom and Carol Voss. The St. Louis Fire Department Color Guard presented the flag while Generald Wilson sang the national anthem. In between dinner courses, violinists Liz Haerim Lee and Xiaoxiao Qiang and pianist Wen Shen serenaded the gala's attendees.
