The National Children’s Cancer Society hosted its sixth “An Evening with the Cardinals” event. This year’s event was held in the main ballroom at Union Station. Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour where they listened to Cardinals highlights and bid on sports memorabilia from the Cardinals and Blues organizations. After dinner, guests listened to Cardinal greats Whitey Herzog, Keith Hernandez, and Willie McGee reminisce about the 1982 World Series. The evening was emceed by Dan McLaughlin.
The NCCS supports families as they navigate the daunting world of childhood cancer and takes a “no matter what” approach to help families stay strong, positive, and together. This year’s featured survivor is St Louis local, Jeremiah “LJ”. When LJ relapsed in 2011, his younger brother Jonah donated bone marrow for his transplant, and LJ is now cancer free.
