The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Man and Woman of the Year gala was held recently at the Chase Park Plaza.  The evening started with a VIP reception.  There was food, drinks, and a live auction, with all proceeds benefitting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Gateway Chapter. The Man, Woman, and Student of the Year campaign is a 10-week campaign where business, community, and school leaders compete to raise funds to benefit patients of blood cancers. The candidates stage several events and campaigns to raise money, with every dollar donated counting as one vote closer to winning the Man, Woman, or Student of the Year.  These candidates, whose compassion and determination have helped benefit blood cancer patients, where all of the money raised stays local. The funds donated to their campaigns will help advance therapies, fund research, and get us that closer to finding a cure. Honorary Chair was Mary Pillsbury Wainwright.  Co-Chairs were Scott Savacool and Mary Frontczak.  Student of the Year Chair was Susan Nall, PhD.  Master of Ceremonies was Guy Phillips.  2016 Man of the Year is  Scott Bernstein, 2016 Woman of the Year is  Michelle Jordan-Berndt.
