The Humane Society of Missouri celebrated 150 years and counting in early November with an anniversary gala at The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis. At the event presented by Purina, guests sported “cockTAIL” attire and were treated to drinks, dinner and chances to meet adoptable pets and animals from the HSMO's Longmeadow Rescue Ranch. These activities and others allowed HSMO supporters to help the nonprofit provide “second chances to animals in need through rescue, rehabilitation, adoption and education,” according to the HSMO website.
“Being able to come together, finally, to really celebrate this important anniversary for us was wonderful,” HSMO president Kathy Warnick says. “Our guests provided proof of their COVID vaccinations, which we believe was important to safely come together and enjoy the evening. The gala was a great success, and it helped to raise life-saving funds so that we can someday celebrate our next milestone!”
