From practicing beside man's best friend to stretching out in unexpected locations, breathe deep and have fun with these unique yoga experiences open to all in the metro area.
Yoga With Man’s Best Friend

Bar K St. Louis, the metro area’s novel restaurant and bar for dogs and their humans, invites yogis and their four-legged friends to experience a DOGA session, where “downward dog” is an especially relevant pose. Each Sunday morning through at least early June, Urban Breath Yoga (based in both Maplewood and St. Louis) will lead a one-hour, dog-friendly yoga class for $10 to $15 per person, depending on Bar K membership status, and Bar K will offer a free mimosa or drip coffee afterward. Dogs get in free, given they meet the entry requirements listed at barkdogbar.com/plan-your-visit.

Yoga at the Zoo

Update: This event has sold out. For more information, visit stlzoo.org/events.
“Practice your cat-cow, butterfly, cobra, monkey or pigeon poses among nature,” the Saint Louis Zoo recommends. On April 30, arrive early at the zoo – just as the animals are waking up and before the public arrives – for an all-level, outdoor yoga practice led by instructors from O’Fallon, Illinois’ Moonbird Yoga on the zoo’s Historic Hill. “The session will focus on alignment of breath and subtle movement set to the rhythm of music, building strength and mobility along the journey,” the zoo’s website describes. “Expect to move a little, maybe break a sweat and have some fun!” Afterward, the fun continues with brunch and drinks alfresco. Tickets cost $35 for zoo members or $45 for nonmembers, with proceeds benefiting the zoo and its efforts to save endangered species.
