Swoon and sway under the September sky at Classic 107.3’s WINE & JAZZ UNDER THE STARS event at the Columbia Foundation for the Arts in St. Louis. While enjoying the popular sounds of Elsie Parker and “The Poor People of Paris,” guests can sip select beers and wines, and nosh on scrumptious appetizers. All proceeds benefit Classic 107.3 (Radio Arts Foundation) and its mission to support classic music programming and the arts in the metro area. 6 to 9 p.m.

Light up your weekend with the oldest and most well-attended free hot air balloon event in the world, THE GREAT FOREST PARK BALLOON RACE. The 47th anniversary of the breathtaking spectacle in St. Louis’ lush green landmark features the always-popular walk-through Balloon Glow on Friday evening, followed by the official race on Saturday afternoon. 5 to 9:15 p.m. Friday; noon to 4:45 p.m. Saturday. Immerse yourself in an authentic cultural experience at the sixth annual ST. LOUIS INDIAN MUSIC FESTIVAL at the Mahatma Gandhi Center in Ballwin. This weekend-long event provides a comprehensive overview of devotional, classical, folk, instrumental, film and modern music systems from India and features unique dance performances by the Soorya Dance Company. Grab your Lederhosen and celebrate the fifth year of OKTOBERFEST at St. Louis’ Anheuser-Busch Biergarten. On Friday evening, enjoy the reservation-only Oktoberfest Beer Pairing Dinner, set to tunes of the Waterloo German Band. Saturday and Sunday, take part in all the festivities, complete with live music, games, German dancing, authentic food and drink, and a viewing of the famous A-B Clydesdales. Times and prices vary.

Spend an enchanting afternoon among the flowers at the 2019 U CITY IN BLOOM GARDEN TOUR AND PLEIN AIR ART FESTIVAL. The tour takes guests in and around University City’s Brittany Woods neighborhood and features seven charming gardens with creative landscaping, as well as plein-air artists painting the scenery in real time. Three additional home gardens, as well as two U City secret, hidden gems, suggested for viewing after the tour cap a delightful day. Plein-air art pieces are available for purchase after the tour. 1 to 5 p.m. $20.
