The Chamber Music Society of St. Louis has announced its star-studded 2015 benefit, Salut D’Amour—Celebrating with David and Miran Halen. The Tuesday, March 10, concert will be held in the acoustically perfect Sheldon Concert Hall.

ONCE UPON A TIME...The Humane Society of Missouri rescued 39 small-breed dogs from Carter County. The owner surrendered the dogs after telling animal cruelty investigators that she had planned to load them into a truck and dump them on the side of the highway. Many of the dogs were in poor shape, and the Humane Society’s rescue team brought them to its Macklind Avenue headquarters for care.

Just in time for the cooler weather, Jewish Family & Children’s Services recently concluded its annual Feed the Pantry—Feed the Soul fundraiser with a trip to Eckert’s Farms. The food drive collected more than $107,000, as well as barrels of non-perishable food and apples picked by participants at Eckert’s. The donations will benefit the Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry.
