Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant will open its first-ever St. Louis location next month in Town & Country. The restaurant, in Town and Country Crossing, will feature award-winning wines in a Napa-style tasting-room setting, as well as contemporary American fare. Opening is set for Dec. 12.

After just nine months as catering and banquet chef for Balaban's Wine Cellar & Tapas Bar, D. SCOTT PHILLIPS has been bumped up to executive chef. According to Phillips, he wants to take the restaurant back to its standard for classic recipes. "We will focus on every element of every dish," he says. From Monday, Aug. 19, through Sunday, Aug. 25, enjoy a special three-course menu for $25 at 27 different eating and drinking establishments in the heart of the city. Chef BRADLEY HOFFMANN, who most recently ran the kitchen at Salt in the CWE, will be assuming executive chef duties at Planter's House, the new eatery from TED and JAMIE KILGORE and TED CHARAK located in Lafayette Square. The restaurant is scheduled to open later this summer.
BAFC Consulting, which offers organizational management services to educational institutions and nonprofits, welcomes JUDY SCLAIR as its new VP of administration. Sclair most recently served as superintendent of the Ladue School District.
One area of St. Louis that's been seeing a real resurgence of its dining scene is Clayton. New and exciting eateries have been attracting diners by the score. The latest restaurant to add to this mini-renaissance is The Libertine.
Missouri wines continue to gain respect among oenophiles, and some of the best are made by wineries in and around St. Charles County. Cheers to that!
In 2011, Mike Randolph of Good Pie fame decided to open up a brunch place. The result: Half & Half, which continues to draw throngs of a.m. diners. He then decided to up the ante by opening a fine-dining concept in the same space for the evening crowd. This eatery, Medianoche, focused on Mexican fare, but for whatever reason failed to take off. Last year, it was replaced by Little Country Gentleman, and we have a feeling the current concept will be around longer—much longer.
On a little corner in Chesterfield are three Sicilian gems, where customers in West St. Louis County can receive the finest products and services from long-standing Italian families, without having to drive the long distance to The Hill.
Keller Williams Realty St. Louis in Kirkwood recently celebrated its annual RED Day (Renew, Energize and Donate) with plenty of flowers and sunshine. RED Day was created for agents and their families as a nationwide Keller Williams commitment to give back to the communities they serve.
