It's official: Garden Glow will once again light up the Missouri Botanical Garden this winter. The winter light exhibit will take place Nov. 22 through Jan. 3, with more than half a million lights adorning the Garden's most iconic locations.
It has been a landmark few years at Westminster Christian Academy, where enrollment currently is at its highest: 1,017 students throughout its co-ed middle and high schools. “We’re grateful to see continued growth in enrollment,” says Tom Stoner, who is in his second year as head of the school. “That’s one of many healthy signs for this school that’s very encouraging.”

Still fresh off its chic remodel last year, the Colonial Marketplace has quickly become a boutique shopping and dining destination. The DESCO Group, which purchased the property in September 2011, brought in a unique mix of high-end shops, delectable dining and specialty services that have caught the attention of the area’s savvy shoppers. With all this buzz, the parking lot can fill up fast. But don’t worry about nabbing a space—complimentary valet service is available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesdays through Saturdays.
St. Louis recently welcomed Prince Louis de Bourbon, Duc d'Anjou and his wife, Princess Marguerite, in honor of the 250th anniversary of the city’s founding, as well as the 800th anniversary of the birth of Louis IX, the city’s namesake.

More than 150 guests stepped right up to Chesterfield Day School’s annual benefit dinner auction, ‘Under the Big Top,’ in the school’s gym-turned-circus tent. A juggler, stilt-walker, human statue, magician, trapeze artist and live music provided entertainment at the event, which raised more than $90,000 for the school’s programs and curriculum. In celebration of the 10th anniversary of its musical theatre program, COCA this weekend is presenting Ragtime The Musical. The production features a cast of 50 and includes COCA alumni and students from 17 area high schools like Max Fiorello.

Recent Clayton High School graduate Caroline Avery has been awarded the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest national award that a Girl Scout Senior or Ambassador can earn, for her Driving Green campaign.
A 17-year-old Frontenac girl, Ellie Towle, currently is biking her way across the country—from Charleston, South Carolina, to San Diego—to help raise tuition money for local schoolchildren.
St. Louis Cardinals Jon Jay and Allen Craig, along with their wives, recently laced up their bowling shoes for the first Jay-Craig Celebrity Bowl at Flamingo Bowl. The event featured bowling with the players and many of their teammates, as well as a silent auction, music, hors d’oeurves and drinks.
