WildSmoke, the smokehouse and bar that opened in Creve Coeur last January, has closed its doors. But the hiatus is a temporary one: The owners and executive team—the same group of folks behind EdgeWild Restaurant & Winery in Chesterfield—are planning to open a new concept in the WildSmoke location later this spring after some renovations and revamping. The new place will be called EdgeWild Bar & Grill, and it’ll be a spin-off of the restaurant, featuring a large central bar and focus on traditional bar food, appetizers, sandwiches and regional fare. Chef AARON BAGGETT, executive chef of EdgeWild Restaurant & Winery, will oversee the kitchens of both restaurants.

So much beer news! In honor of their 23rd anniversary, the folks at Schlafly have unveiled a new brew, Imperial Topaz IPA. The beer was introduced at a pair of recent anniversary parties at The Schlafly Tap Room and The Schlafly Bottleworks.

Chef ERIC BRENNER recently added his name to the list of local chefs who’ve found success on the small screen. Earlier this month, Brenner took the top prize of $18,000 on the Food Network show, Guy’s Grocery Games, hosted by GUY FIERI. Brenner currently is working to open Lascelles Tap & Grill in Granite City, where he’ll serve as executive chef and GM. Most recently, he was the exec chef and GM of Alumni St. Louis downtown.

Donut fans, take note: Popular food truck Vincent Van Doughnut is in the process of opening a brick-and-mortar location in Clayton at 12 North Meramec Ave. in the former Pomme space. Look for an opening sometime in the next month or so. We'll keep you posted.
Riverbend is now open in the former Harvest space in Richmond Heights. The southern food specialists had previously been located in Soulard.
We sampled the fare at Panorama not long after the doors opened and were suitably impressed. Since then, the restaurant has undergone some changes in the kitchen, necessitating a return trip.

Hendel's Market Cafe, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary, is housed in a former grocery and general store that was founded in 1873. The building was transformed into a restaurant in 1994, and it retains all of that rustic charm.
Ashley Sewell and Patrick Ryan were worried about the weather: The forecast for their big day, over Memorial Day Weekend in Cape Cod, was predicted to be cold and rainy. But the storm clouds stayed away and sunshine blessed the beaches for the couple’s nautical nuptials.
