Brad Larkin & Kelly Whelan
Mr. David Larkin of Glen Allen, Virginia, and Ms. Anne Wilson Larkin of St. Louis are pleased to announce the engagement of their son, Bradley (Brad) David, to Kelly Susan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William and Susan Whelan of Rye, New York. Grandparents of the couple include Dr. Maria Stack Kinsella and the late Ms. Edna Williamson Wilson. Brad and Kelly plan to marry on Sept. 3 at the Church of the Resurrection in Rye, New York.
The future groom graduated in 2009 from Deep Run High School in Glen Allen, Virginia. In 2013, he earned his bachelor’s degrees in modern studies and history from the University of Virginia. He received his master’s degree in secondary English education from New York University in 2015. Brad currently works as a paralegal at the New York law firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, with plans to attend Fordham University School of Law in the fall.
The bride-to-be graduated in 2009 from Greenwich Academy in Greenwich, Connecticut. In 2013, she earned her bachelor’s degrees in English and history from the University of Virginia. She then went on to graduate cum laude from the Fordham University School of Law in 2016. Kelly is an associate at the law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP.
Although the couple’s families, education, interests and career aspirations often overlapped, Brad and Kelly did not meet until studying abroad in Germany through the University of Virginia. Their families and friends celebrated the announcement of their engagement at a cocktail party held in Brad and Kelly’s honor at The Yale Club of New York City. The couple plans to reside in New York City.
Lindsay Leible & Christopher Combs
Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Terri Leible of Sikeston are delighted to announce the engagement of their daughter, Lindsay Thornton, to Christopher Michael, son of Mr. and Mrs. Randall and Jeannie Combs of Town and Country. The couple plan to marry this fall in Charleston, South Carolina.
The bride-to-be graduated in 2004 from Sikeston High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Missouri and went on to receive her Juris Doctor degree in 2011 from Saint Louis University School of Law. Lindsay is an associate litigation attorney at Carmody MacDonald P.C.
The future groom graduated in 2004 from MICDS (Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School). In 2008, he earned his bachelor’s degree in finance and operations management from the University of Colorado. He then went on to receive his Juris Doctor degree in 2012 from Saint Louis University School of Law. Christopher works as an attorney at Combs Law Group, where he specializes in criminal defense and personal injury.
Lindsay first met Christopher in 2009 through a mutual friend, who is soon to be her maid of honor. The two began dating, and together overcame the rigors of attending law school and renovating an almost 90-year-old home. They reside in University City, with their two beloved Whoodle dogs, Fred and Sophie. The couple plans to honeymoon in Kauai and Maui, Hawaii.
