Amanda Garrison & William Bishop
Glenn Garrison of Solvang, Calif., and Lisa Garrison of Santa Maria, Calif., are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Garrison, to William Bishop, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bishop of Webster Groves.
The bride-to-be earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California – Santa Barbara, and graduated from Vanderbilt University with a master’s degree in anthropology in 2012.
The future groom is a 2001 alumnus of John Burroughs School. He graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor of Arts, and earned a Ph.D in history from Vanderbilt University in 2012.
Amanda and William met at Vanderbilt and became engaged over the holidays. They are to be married on March 29, 2014 in Santa Barbara, and will reside in Nashville.
Rachel Greenhall & Matthew McRoskey
Jessica Dowell Greenhall of Ladue and Richard Greenhall of Philadelphia are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Rachel Eva Greenhall, to Matthew Coffey McRoskey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael McRoskey of Pacific Palisades, Calif.
The bride-to-be is a 2004 graduate of Visitation Academy. She earned a Bachelor of Science in finance from Santa Clara University in 2008, followed by a J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law in 2011. That same year, she joined the firm of Wood, Smith, Henning & Berman as an associate.
The future groom, who is a leasing agent at Thomas Properties Group Inc., also earned a Bachelor of Science in finance from Santa Clara University in 2008. Matt and Rachel met as freshmen and courted for the next seven years. On Valentine’s Day, they reminisced about college by looking through a scrapbook Rachel had made. “We still have one more photo to add,” Matt told her as they neared its end. Unbeknownst to Rachel, he had inserted a final page that read, 'The Engagement.' As she turned to it, he proposed.
The couple, who reside in Santa Monica, Calif., will be married on Dec. 13 in St. Louis. The ceremony will be held at the Cathedral Basilica, followed by a reception at the Saint Louis Club.
Jessica Sommer & Curtis Goss
Karen Sommer of Creve Coeur is pleased to announce the engagement of her daughter, Jessica Lynn Sommer, to Curtis Goss III, son of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Goss Jr. of St. Louis. Jessica’s father is the late James E. Sommer.
The bride-to-be graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in 2000, and earned a Bachelor of Arts from Murray State University in 2004. She then joined Edward Jones, where she works as a senior service specialist.
The future groom is a 2000 graduate of Lindbergh High School. In 2005, he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Webster University. An avid golfer since childhood, Curt is the head golf professional and director of instruction at Mystic Oak Golf Course in Waterloo, Ill.
The couple, who became engaged in December, will be married Oct. 26 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Waterloo. A reception at Mystic Oak Golf Course is to follow. After honeymooning in Mexico, the couple will make their home in Waterloo.
