Time management could make, or break, the grandest of wedding day plans. We turned to the experts for their advice on perfectly timing beauty and body care essentials.

Hair and makeup: Christina Passanise, Clare’s of Clayton

• A trial run three to four months before the wedding is essential. You have to know what the stylist is capable of doing. Book your hair and makeup trial on the same day so you can see the look you’ll end up with.

• Book wedding day hair and makeup as soon as possible. Many brides book up to a year in advance.

• It usually takes 45 minutes to style the hair, and 30 minutes for makeup. But it’s always good to overestimate the time. We recommend having hair and makeup done three hours before the event so you have enough time to drive to the venue and take pictures before the wedding starts.

Facials and hair removal: Mikki Jones, A True Spa

• Receiving facials every four to six weeks for at least six months before the wedding is recommended. Regular facials, along with a skin care regimen at home, will prepare the skin and make it glow for the big day.

• Regular waxing should be started months before the wedding day. Waxing is not a service you want to try for the first time the week of your wedding.

• Get eyebrows waxed the week before the wedding. Eyebrows are a very prominent feature, so make sure you have a good relationship with the esthetician to ensure your brows are perfect the day of the wedding. Any other body waxing can be done four to five days before the wedding.

Teeth whitening: Dr. Chris Wolken, Wolken Family Dental

• Do the research well before the wedding. There are plenty of different whitening products out there, and it’s important to find one that will work well for you. It’s also key to find a dentist you feel comfortable with.

• Some brides have fairly minor needs and can turn to less expensive, over-the-counter products. But those with deeper stains could require professional whitening. We use Zoom! Chairside Whitening System to whiten in a short period of time. It’s a two-hour procedure ($700 to $800 per visit) that allows teeth to jump as much as eight to 10 shades whiter.

• It’s recommended to book an appointment about two weeks before the wedding. Some people just have naturally sensitive teeth, and we want to make sure those teeth heal and re-hydrate before the big day.

Body sculpting, cellulite reduction and Botox treatments: Dr. Richard Moore, The Lifestyle Center

•  If you need to lose just a couple of pounds to fit into your wedding dress, it’s best to just lose the weight. But if you have a problem area that’s not responding to diet and exercise, body sculpting is an alternative.

•  VelaShape is a non-invasive way to treat cellulite, allowing for temporary circumferential reduction, reducing inches. We recommend a series of treatments, once a week, for three to six months prior to the wedding to get the effect you need.

•  Smartlipo is a minimally-invasive procedure that can treat small pockets of fat and tighten the skin at the same time. This is used for the face, neck, abdomen, back, thigh, arm and breast areas, and can be combined with another process to remove larger pockets of fat. We recommend doing it at least three months before the wedding.

•  For older brides, we recommend getting Botox treatments one month prior to the wedding to achieve the full effect. That way, there’s time for a touch-up or two, if needed.
