Thomas and Nancy Ray of St. Louis are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kathryn R. Ray, to John V. Cotsworth, son of Fred and Mary Ellen Cotsworth of Clayton.

The bride-to-be graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in 2000 and received a master’s degree in reading with a reading specialist certification from Webster University. Currently, she works as a third-grade teacher at Meramec Elementary School.

The future groom graduated from Clayton High School in 1997 and received a B.A. in business administration from the College of Charleston. Currently, he is employed by PNC Bank as an assistant VP and branch manager in the Central West End.

The couple met in 2007. John proposed on a weekend trip to Chicago at the top of the Navy Pier Ferris wheel. They are planning an August wedding at Saint Ambrose Roman Catholic Church and a reception in the Starlight Room at The Chase Park Plaza. Following a honeymoon to Antigua, the couple will reside in St. Louis.
