Elisabeth Burack and John Bradshaw
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Burack of Chesterfield are overjoyed to announce the engagement of their daughter, Elisabeth, to her middle-school sweetheart, John Bradshaw, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bradshaw of Chesterfield.
The couple met in sixth grade at Parkway Central Middle School, and were immediately smitten. Their love and affection for each other grew through the years, despite attending different colleges and then living in different states to pursue their careers. But 15 years after they met, John surprised Liz in their sixth-grade classroom with dinner, roses and a proposal. They will tie the knot in St. Louis in September.
Both the bride-to-be and future groom are 2004 graduates of Parkway Central High School. Liz graduated from Washington University in 2008, where she was a Danforth Scholar and earned her bachelors with honors in fashion design. She also was a member of Alpha Phi sorority. After college, she worked for four years in New York City as a fashion designer for Tommy Hilfiger. She now designs for Kohl’s in Milwaukee.
John graduated in 2008 from the University of Missouri, where he received his bachelors with honors in biology. He also was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He has worked for the Stryker Corporation both in Baltimore and New York City, and is now a sales rep in Milwaukee for the company’s endoscopy division.

She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority, and now works as a physical education teacher at Kirk Day School.
Though the couple met in seventh grade, they didn’t begin dating until after college. They are planning a June 21 ceremony at Central Presbyterian Church, with a reception to follow at the Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark. They will honeymoon in Jamaica and reside in Clayton.
