A recent wedding that I had the honor to provide service for was a lovely affair... But why in the world would a parent allow their pre-teen boys to attend this beautiful event in cargo shorts, T-shirts and athletic shoes?
Most brides want to have the traditional flower girl and ring bearer for their wedding day. Having said that, it seems that more and more couples do not want children at the reception. This is a sticky wicket, indeed, but it can be done properly.
When working with brides- and grooms-to-be, Kate Turner, founder of Kate & Company, says her first priority is to give each couple a wedding that reflects their taste and personality. “The places that we work out of are often quintessential hotels, but we don’t want the guests to walk in and say, This is really pretty…but it’s just like the last time I was here,” she says. “We want it to be reflective of who they are.”
