The Special Education Foundation Women Leader hosted its eighth annual boutique shopping and luncheon and fashion show at the Sheraton Westport Chalet. The event started with shopping from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and included fashion items, children’s clothing, jewelry and other accessories from more than 25 St. Louis area vendors. Marta’s, a clothing boutique in Ladue and Chesterfield, Missouri, provided the fashions. Proceeds from the event provide scholarships for college-bound students with disabilities and beyond the classroom items for five Special School District schools. The Special Education Foundation Women Leaders was formed in July 2009 to help the Special Education Foundation in its mission of providing financial assistance to children and youth with disabilities. The group meets several times yearly to discuss ways to help children in their journey to independence. This year’s Fashion Show Co-chairs were Dana Huxley and Margaret Louvier.
