The Special Education Foundation held its 13th Annual Dianne Arbeiter and Jo Anne Tierney Sauer Event at the estate of Suzie and David Spence.  Guests were treated to light bites and cocktails. Each year, The Foundation hosts the Dianne Arbeiter Celebration of Success to honor Dianne’s commitment to the students she served.  The event also honors the memory of Jo Anne Tierney Sauer, the mother of Suzie Spence. Jo Anne dedicated her entire professional career to the education of students within the Special School District, serving the children at Litszinger School and Shriners Hospital for over 40 years. Proceeds from the event go to scholarships, summer camps and hearing aids for students in deaf and hard of hearing programs in St. Louis County.  To date, more than $222,000 in scholarships and summer camps have been awarded.  Scholarships were presented to Liam Chorney and Dieynaba SamNan Murch and Suzie Spence served as committee chairs.
