Guests were invited to a night of chess plus fashion at Windows on Washington. It was the opening ceremony of the 2017 Sinquefield Cup and the unveiling of the winning design for Pinned! A Designer Chess Challenge. This was an unforgettable night of fashion, chess and music which featured fashion designer and DJ, Timo Weiland and original designs by the six inaugural designers of the Saint Louis Fashion Incubator. Pinned! Was the first-of-its-kind designer challenge, developed in partnership with the World Chess Hall of Fame and Saint Louis Fashion Fund to celebrate the intersection of chess and fashion. Each designer created an ensemble for today’s chess player, in competition to win a $10,000 scholarship prize. Katie Ackerman and Tiya Lim were co-chairs. Audra Noyes was the winner of the competition.
