St. Louis food lovers eagerly anticipated this month’s inaugural event, Savor for Students grand tasting, as the city’s most celebrated chefs cooked and shared their dishes to raise funds for Lift for Life Academy which was held at The Ritz Carlton in Clayton, Missouri. The delectable fundraiser showcased culinary creations presented tapas-style at The Ritz-Carlton by the city’s most celebrated chefs, including Kevin Nashan, recently named #1 chef in the Midwest by the James Beard Foundation. This epicurean event of the summer featured culinary delights that were prepared and served by each participating chef. Also on the menu was complimentary sushi, sashimi, a raw bar and more. Lift for Life Academy offers a private school atmosphere, where all programs and services are provided at no cost to students and their families. An important part of the Lift for Life Academy focus is nutrition. The school provides balanced, nutritious meals free of charge, five days a week, as part of its program. For hundreds of children, it’s their only opportunity to get a meal each day.
