Hello again…Look for Imagination Toys in Ladue to reopen early next month with new owner POLLY LETT. The Creve Coeur resident recently acquired the Ladue Market Place fixture from retiring owners MARGE and DAVID VERSPRILLE, who ran the toy shop for more than 26 years. Lett is in the process of updating the store and plans a grand reopening in early March.

JEWISH FAMILY & CHILDREN’S SERVICE’s (JF&CS) Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry soon will have a new home. JF&CS officials say the pantry, which serves up to 6,000 people a month, has outgrown its current location on Schuetz Road. The new building on Baur Boulevard and Warson Road is less than a mile away, and is expected to open in mid-2012.

Baseball great CAL RIPKEN JR. will headline St. Louis County Library’s eighth annual Family Read Night next month. The hall-of-famer will discuss and sign copies of Super-Sized Slugger, the latest young adult novel in the best-selling series, Cal Ripken Jr.’s All-Stars. The book follows the adventures of Cody Parker, the new kid in school who’s overweight, scared and hates his new life in Dullsville, Md. (a.k.a.

Baltimore), but plays baseball like a dream. Ripken’s March 9 appearance at Library headquarters begins with ‘pre-show’ entertainment at 5 p.m. Signing will be for books only—no memorabilia please.

Three St. Joseph’s Academy students have been awarded the distinguished World Aquarium Aquatic Marine Science Institute scholarships. After attending Saturday classes at City Museum’s St. Louis Aquarium, RACHEL DALSKE, ALLISON HERRMANN and SARAH RANEY will travel to Florida in June to conduct marine science research.

Kudos to Villa Duchesne eighth-grader ALLISON TIELKING, who is the recipient of several recent regional Scholastic Art & Writing awards. Her entry, Doll Factory, was honored with the top Gold Key Award, among others. Allison’s artwork was selected from more than 3,700 middle and high school submissions.
