Way to go…ST. LOUIS RAMS’ equipment assistant DAVE HALL is winning by losing. Hall has lost 74 pounds on the JENNY CRAIG program, and has maintained his ideal weight for the past three years. Hall’s routine includes treadmill training three days a week, running at least three miles every other day, plus crunches, push-ups and weights. His cholesterol has also dropped from 323 to 146. Hall, who’s been with the Rams for 10 years, has been dubbed by his doctor as ‘the poster boy for getting fit as you get older.’

Rock n’ Roll…CHUCK BERRY rocked a capacity crowd at the MISSOURI BOTANICAL GARDEN’s first-ever outdoor concert event, ‘Three Stars Over the Garden.’ The 83-year-old Berry dazzled and duck-walked his way through classics like ‘Roll Over Beethoven,’ ‘Sweet Little 16,’ ‘Johnny B. Welcome to RICHARD LIEKWEG, the new group president of BJC HEALTHCARE and president of BARNES-JEWISH HOSPITAL. Liekweg comes to St. Louis from the University of California, San Diego Medical Center, where he served as CEO and associate vice chancellor. He’ll succeed ANDREW ZISKIND, who is moving to a newly created senior VP role with BJC to coordinate system-wide preparations for health care reform. Liekweg officially begins his tenure here Sept. 14.

St. Louis’ first-ever language immersion school opens its doors to students next week, with classes taught entirely in French or Spanish. ST. LOUIS LANGUAGE IMMERSION SCHOOLS has two elementary charter schools, The French School and The Spanish School, both located in the Forest Park Southeast neighborhood. For its inaugural year, SLLIS will offer kindergarten and first grade education to 160 students. SLLIS eventually plans to expand its curriculum to include students up to fifth grade and offer additional language immersion campuses throughout the city that teach German, Mandarin, Arabic, Japanese, Russian and Farsi.
