Hats off to John Burroughs junior TRISHA BHAT, who achieved a perfect score of 2400 on her SAT. In case you were wondering, Trisha also scored a perfect 36 on her ACT, which she took this summer. Both were her first attempts! Bursting with pride are parents SANJAY and SAVITA BHAT of Chesterfield.

She finished in 11 hours and 11 minutes, and ranked 27th in her age group.

A number of St. Louis City families will soon get a knock on their doors from workers with the National Children’s Study—the largest long-term study of child health conducted in the country. SAINT LOUIS UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH is leading efforts locally in this landmark research designed to help improve the health and well-being of future children. Workers will go door-to-door in selected neighborhoods to identify pregnant women and those trying to become pregnant who want their children to participate in research on the environmental and genetic influences on child health. Some 1,000 children here are expected to take part in the study that will last for more than 21 years. Nationally, the study will involve more than 100,000 participants.

The newest installment in a popular children’s book series features the Saint Louis Zoo as its backdrop. Wendy on Wheels Goes to the Zoo is the second book of the Wendy on Wheels series written by St. Louisan ANGELA RUZICKA and illustrated by UMSL grad ELIZABETH GEARHART. De Soto resident BRANDON O’HARVER’s name is used for Wendy’s companion in the zoo adventure. Brandon was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy at the age of 4. In his honor, a portion of book sales will be donated to Muscular Dystrophy Association. LN
