Speaking of sprucing up, The Chase Park Plaza continues to out-do itself. In 2007, the luxury hotel completed a total remodel of its 251 rooms and suites, lobby, meeting rooms and ballrooms. This year it plans to debut Sante, a $2.5 million state-of-the-art fitness and wellness club.

Big Bucks for college scholarships…At its recent Jack Buck National Media Person of the Year Award honoring Emmy award-winning sports announcer Joe Buck, The Press Club of Metropolitan St. Louis raised nearly $100,000 to help fund journalism and communications scholarships.
