Give my regards to Broadway…MACY‘S, HILTON ST. LOUIS AT THE BALLPARK and KMOV CHANNEL 4 will be rolling out the red carpet April 5 for a star-studded fashion event. The runway show will take place in the new Archview Ballroom at the hotel, which boasts floor-to-ceiling windows and a stunning skyline view. Hot spring styles from designers such as Kenneth Cole, Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger and others will be presented in a show choreographed by renowned NYC producer RYAN STANA and will include appearances by Broadway stars, top fashion models and special celebrity guests. Proceeds from the event benefit the NEWBORN INTENSIVE CARE UNIT at ST. LOUIS CHILDREN‘S HOSPITAL. Tickets start at $80 and are available through Ticketmaster or any St. Louis area Macy‘s location.
VIRGINIA KERR and PAUL COOK of KMOV will emcee the event, footage from which will become a prime-time special to air that month on KMOV. Honorary chairs are ALLAN COHEN, general manager of KMOV; LEE KETTER, president of St. Louis Children‘s Hospital; and BOB O‘LOUGHLIN, CEO and chairman of Lodging Hospitality Management. Paris hysteria hit St. Louis recently when heiress-turned-entrepreneur-turned-pop star-turned-actress PARIS HILTON made a personal appearance to promote her new fragrance, Can Can Paris. Hilton appeared in front of hundreds of fans at MACY‘S South County and later danced the night away at HOME nightclub at Ameristar Casino.
Music to our ears…The SAINT LOUIS SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA will re-enter the recording booth to do a number of new releases, thanks to a generous gift from Centene Charitable Foundation. The initial program features the collaboration of SLSO music director DAVID ROBERTSON and composer JOHN ADAMS. Some of the recordings will be released for streaming and download on Internet music stores, others on CD through Nonesuch Records. Revenue from sales will be shared between SLSO and musicians featured on the recordings.

Happy anniversary to the SOCIETY OF ST. VINCENT DEPAUL, which is celebrating its 175th anniversary this year. The largest lay Catholic charitable organization, it was founded in 1833 by a French college student named Frederic Ozanam so his schoolmates could put their faith into action through service to the poor. Today, the society has more the 690,000 members operating in 142 countries.

Throughout the month of March, more than 1,000 tropical Blue Morpho butterflies will be released inside the 8,000-square-foot glass conservatory at the SOPHIA M. SACHS BUTTERFLY HOUSE. The releases will take place Saturdays at 1 p.m.
Here comes the bride! DARCY MILLER, senior VP and editorial director of MARTHA STEWART WEDDINGS magazine, and WENDY KROMER, co-author of the new book MARTHA STEWART‘S WEDDING CAKES, will host a Wedding Planning 101 event at MACY‘s in the St. Louis Galleria March 9 at noon. Tired of gray skies? Check out ART IN BLOOM at the SAINT LOUIS ART MUSEUM March 7 through 9 for a burst of spring colors. It‘s the museum‘s ninth annual pairing of beautiful art and fabulous flowers, with arrangements designed by area floral designers and garden clubs. The event will feature 39 works of art in the museum‘s collection. Floral arranging demonstrations, lectures, docent-led tours and performances will be offered throughout the weekend. Congrats to JENNIFER WILLIAMS, owner and founder of SAINT LOUIS CLOSET CO. and SAINT LOUIS CELLARS, who has been nominated for the inaugural FIRST LADY AWARDS established by Missouri‘s First Lady MELANIE BLUNT. The awards recognize five history-making women during Women‘s History Month in March. Since 1991, Williams has grown Saint Louis Closet Co. into a multimillion dollar company that employs nearly 50 people. She opened a successful wine store in 2007 and is known across the state for her business savvy.
The SAINT LOUIS BALLET has announced the world premiere of a new ballet work by artistic director GEN HORIUCHI as part of the organization‘s Master Works Series. Horiuchi‘s New Work will debut March 7 through 9 at Edison Theater. The performances also will include Circle of Fifths and Serenade, two favorites of the New York City Ballet.
