Local companies joined forces with jewelry designer jenny present to host Shop For A Cause, to benefit Gateway to Hope. Guests enjoyed Champagne, music and sweets while shopping the jenny present collection. Simcha’s Events, Bittersweet Artisan Truffles, Festive Atmospheres, The Rosewood Ensemble and Rachel Closson Photography sponsored the event.

Joan Holt, senior counselor of workers’ compensation for Schnuck Markets, Inc., received the St. Louis Workers’ Compensation Distinguished Lawyer Award for her professionalism and respect from the community. The award is presented jointly by the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis and Kids’ Chance of Missouri.

Maplewood Galleries hosted a baby shower to raise money and supplies for the young mothers and babies at The Haven of Grace. Guests brought donations, diapers, baby clothing and other items to the antiques and furnishings store, and 10 percent of the evening’s proceeds benefitted the organization.

The St. Louis Arc, a nonprofit United Way Agency providing services to St. Louisans with developmental disabilities, cut the ribbon to the new Jack Phelan Board Room in the Arc Family Center. Phelan was a former Arc board member and key figure at Edward Jones.
