Supporters of SouthSide Early Childhood Center raised more than $298,000 at the organization’s annual Gala Dinner Auction at the Chase Park Plaza. The event included cocktails, dinner, live and silent auctions and an awards ceremony. St. Louis Rams player Joe Barksdale threw autographed footballs to guests donating $10,000 and $5,000 dollars during the live auction. The money will provide scholarships for the children who attend the Center.

Each year since 1999, the Moneta Group Charitable Foundation has provided grants to charitable organizations. This year, the foundation is partnering with Autism Speaks and Mental Health America of Eastern Missouri to provide each organization with a $25,000 grant. Moneta Momentum, which allows employees the chance to petition the foundation to support specific causes, also has distributed $20,000 among three employee-selected causes: Shakespeare Festival St. Louis, The Haven of Grace and Cancer Support Community of Greater St. Louis. Alex Rucker was recently named the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis 2014 Youth of the Year. Rucker has been a member of the organization’s Herbert Hoover Club since she was 11, and recently graduated from Lindbergh High School as valedictorian. She will attend Southern Illinois University Carbondale in the fall with a full-ride scholarship.

More than 50 guests recently enjoyed a private concert benefiting Whitfield School at the home of St. Louis Symphony concertmaster David Halen and his wife, Miran. Prudential Alliance, Realtors recently celebrated its transition to Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Alliance Real Estate with a ribbon-cutting. The rebranding keeps the company on the forefront of the real estate market. The company is working with a new home-warranty company, as well as a technology company to provide even better services for its clients.
