Support Dogs, Inc. rolled out the red carpet for the Fourth Annual Tacky Ball “Hooray for Doggiewood!” fundraiser. Attendees glammed it up for this star-studded Hollywood-themed event. Hilarious celebrity costumes and kooky dog-inspired formal wear kept everyone entertained while they mixed and mingled at the Kemp Auto Museum.
Miss International 2008, Jayna Altman, an advocate for hearing loss and other disabilities, served as the event’s honorary chairperson. Born severely premature, Jayna Altman spent her first three months in intensive care receiving care for a number of health complications. Medications used to improve her health actually caused her profound hearing loss, giving doctors little faith that she would ever speak. After years of auditory verbal therapy, Altman has defied these odds learning to speak beautifully and eventually earned a degree from the University of California, San Diego. She is currently working towards a doctorate in audiology while working tirelessly as an advocate to assist organizations that are devoted to spreading awareness for all kinds of disabilities.
Guests were treated to a “WOOFgang Pack” dinner by Russo’s Gourmet, music by The Spectrum Band, and a “Puparazzi” live auction.
