The Shakespeare Festival of St. Louis presented ‘An Evening with Lynn Redgrave’ at The Sheldon to benefit the organization’s year-round artistic and education programs. Artistic director Dawn McAndrews offered a welcome and acknowledged the event’s underwriters, Jack and Anne Bader, Helen and Bill Gilbert, Cathy and Jim Berges, Mary Strauss, Centene Corporation, and Edward Jones.
Redgrave presented a premier of her work in progress, ‘Shakespeare for My Mother,’ which included personal anecdotes of her mother’s favorite drama, Romeo and Juliet, and selections from the Bard’s plays and sonnets. She met with 200 guests at a cocktail reception following the performance. Event leaders were Mary Ann Hogan and Anna Lea Kerckhoff.
