Saint Louis Crisis Nursery’s Razzle Dazzle Ball was ‘A Wildly Elegant Affair,’ with 510 guests sporting everything from exotic animal prints to black-tie elegance. A tropical rainforest cocktail party with live animals, specialty drinks and a silent auction preceded dinner and the presentation of the H.U.G.S. & K.I.S.S.E.S. Awards. John Carney served as emcee and Julie Buck Brooks as honorary co-chair.
Co-chairs were Dr. Terry and Phyllis Weiss, Noah and Pam Griggs, Tim and Ruth Hogenkamp, and Peter and Kim Wazlawek. Thanks to generous supporters and assistance from the chair of fund-raising and corporate support, Roberta Cohen, a record $316,000 was raised to benefit the Nursery’s mission to prevent child abuse and neglect by providing short-term, emergency shelter for children, birth through age 11, whose families are in crisis.
Recipients of the H.U.G.S. & K.I.S.S.E.S. Awards were: Shea O’Toole, the Dana Brown Charitable Trust, Gretchen and Don Gerber, and Centene Corporation.
