Anyone familiar with Ladue News knows that our primary service to the community is our charity coverage. We are dedicated to ensuring the success of the many arts, human services and health organizations that enrich our community. That dedication gave rise to our first LN Charity Issue 25 years ago.
Over the years, our Charity Issue has brought wide attention to each charity we select, helping it gain supporters and donors. In 2004, we made two changes to our longstanding format: The charities we consider no longer are limited to those helping children, and we honor nine 'finalists' every year, with three winners chosen from that field. This change has allowed us to highlight the special contributions of many more charities and their loyal volunteers.
Nominations are being accepted from all area nonprofit agencies and can be submitted by anyone, including members of the organizations or their beneficiaries. The deadline for nomination applications is February 27, 2012.
The nine finalists will be announced in the paper in the spring of 2012. The LN Charity Awards will culminate in a cocktail party on the eve of the Charity Issue, where the winners will be announced.
Please remember to send your IRS 501(c)(3) Status Letter under separate cover.
