Girls on the Run of St. Louis picked up the pace to for their Adventure Gala held at the Third Degree Glass Factory. Co-chaired by Courtney Nolan and Meghan Green and emceed by KMOX radio talk show host, Charlie Brennan, the evening offered music and dining along with a live auction with proceeds going directly to support the Girls on the Run scholarship program.

Girls on the Run of St. Louis is a non-profit program for girls in grades 3 through 8 and encourages pre-teen girls to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through running. The program is delivered through an interactive curriculum combining self-esteem enhancing lessons with uplifting workouts aimed to develop the whole girl. Young girls are empowered with positive self-awareness and increased confidence; a sense of achievement by training for and running a 5K; and giving back to their community through a service project each season. Girls on the Run’s goal is to serve more than 1,500 girls in 2009 and provide $74,000 in scholarships.
