The Assistance League of St. Louis celebrated 20 years of philanthropy with an Authors Brunch at The Saint Louis Woman’s Club. Members of the nonprofit volunteer service organization develop and fund programs to serve children and adults in the community. Featured speakers were mystery novelist C.R. Compton of St. Louis and Susan Vreeland, internationally recognized for her historical fiction on art themes.
President Sandra Arnold thanked co-chairs Sandra Charles and Marie DeLuca, Lynette Roccia, Barbara Schieler and the event’s sponsors. Among the nonprofit’s programs to alleviate suffering in our community are: Operation School Bell, which provides clothes for students; Steps to Success, which gives shoes to children; and Project ROSE, which offers support for abused women.
