An evening of cocktails, dining and dancing awaited those attending the 2008 Heart Ball, the American Heart Association’s premier black-tie social event held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Clayton. Chaired by Dr. Gorden and Elaine Knight, the Heart Ball raises money to support lifesaving research and educational programs in the St. Louis area. Dr. Martin Schwarze was recognized with the Hugh D. McCulloch Award.
Heart Ball attendees had the opportunity to support a special initiative, the Learn and Live Special Appeal, which addresses the critical issue of children’s heart health. The American Heart Association is a national voluntary health agency whose mission is to build healthier lives free of cardiovascular disease and stroke.
