A Closer Look @ Webster Groves

• In 1896 five smaller communities—Webster, Old Orchard, Webster Park, Tuxedo Park and Selma—merged to form what is now the affluent suburb of Webster Groves. The area is known for its tree-lined streets and large historic homes. The town has made history with its high school football team, the Webster Groves Statesmen, which has the oldest running football rivalry west of the Mississippi, with the Kirkwood High School Pioneers.

• There are currently 222 homes on the market in Webster Groves. They range in price from $1,650,000 for a 7,000 square foot Georgian colonial on 1.5 acres to several homes under $100,000. Two are currently listed at more than $1 million. Ten homes sold in Webster in January of this year, one of which was a foreclosure.
