Both Daneen and C.J. Herbert are from small towns. So when it came time to find a place to raise their family (with Gunnar and Annika, now ages 12 and 9, respectively), they found that Wildwood met their requirements, and then some.

LN: WHAT WAS IT ABOUT WILDWOOD THAT MADE YOU WANT TO LIVE THERE?

Daneen Herbert: We liked that it’s like a small community, yet convenient to a large metropolitan area—perfect to raise a family.

LN: WHAT MAKES IT FEEL LIKE A SMALL COMMUNITY?

DH: Our neighbors have become friends, and every time you go out, you run into somebody who you know. It’s been the best decision we’ve made as a married couple to move to Wildwood. And there’s locally owned businesses like Wildwood Pub & Grill. My favorite little shop is Heels. Pure by Jen is another local shop that is in the Town Center, where they have so many events.

LN: WHAT ABOUT AMENITIES FOR OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES?

DH: Babler State Park is about five minutes away, and it has camping, cabins and hiking trails. And C.J. is a long-distance runner, so he is really a big fan of the Al Foster Trail.
