Heidi and Scott Suppelsa are such big fans of Webster Groves that they’re on their second Webster home. The family especially enjoys their current neighborhood because so many neighbors have children the same age as their son, Eli, who’s 6, and their daughter, Maya, who will tell you she’s ‘free’ years old.
LN: What makes Webster so special?
Heidi Suppelsa: It’s the perfect combination of city and suburb. You can walk to so many things, and it’s centrally located. We love the character of the homes—they’re definitely not cookie-cutter.
LN: What do your kids love about it?
Heidi: We never miss the Fourth of July parade and carnival. Eli calls it the USA’s birthday party and asks about it almost every month. And they love dinner at Highway 61 Roadhouse—of course from there, it’s way too easy to walk over to Serendipity for ice cream.
LN: Best kept secret in Webster?
Heidi: Definitely Margaret Park—it’s a gem!
LN: What’s the big news in Webster in 2011?
Mayor Welch: There is so much going on! More than $150 million in construction projects, our second year of the Farmers Market, beautification plans for the business district, and new businesses and events. It promises to be a great year!
