The Old World architecture and contemporary interior design of Palladium Saint Louis could set the stage for your next nonprofit event.
For 2013, nonprofits will receive $2,013 off event packages at the historic venue. “We recognize how much nonprofits do for our community on a daily basis, and we wanted to find a way to give back,” says Maggie Eichwald, director of sales and catering. “Nonprofits typically have one large fundraiser each year, and this special is ideal for that.” Palladium is carrying the deal into 2014, with $2,014 off 2014 charity events.
Since its 2009 inception, Palladium’s six-member event planning team has created one-of-a-kind events for nonprofits such as MDA, Craft Alliance and Gateway to Hope. In addition to the new discount, nonprofits will continue to receive Palladium’s standard charity savings of 10 percent off package-pricing for the first three months of 2013 and 25 percent off rental fees throughout the year.
Led by Eichwald and Melody Buckner, Palladium’s staff works to make every cocktail party, fundraiser or auction a signature event. “When you rent Palladium, it’s all about you; there’s not two or three events going on,” notes company president Richard Nix Jr. “And events are inclusive to make it easy and successful for nonprofits, so they are able to put more money in their pocket.” Rental includes the use of the entire property, from the original historical charm of the 1937 mezzanine level to the modern elegance of a new outdoor green space.
Each event is tailored to the client’s specifications, from the food and flowers to the lighting and audiovisual effects. Themes also can be incorporated into the event’s overall design. “Ninety-nine percent of the time, we do custom event packages with a specific menu and design,” Eichwald says. The venue’s offerings include full-service cuisine; chic table settings featuring chameleon chairs, flatware and glassware; cocktail party-style white leather lounge furniture; a stage and podium; LED lighting; surround-sound; on-site parking; and views of the Arch and city skyline through large palladium windows.
Florist Brian Blasingame directs audio and visual effects, including delicate details such as floral centerpieces and candles, and larger elements such as projection images and overall layout, Nix says. “He listens to exactly what they want for the event aesthetic and works with all budgets.” Sous chef Chad Vanderleest tailors the menu to give every event the freshest and prettiest plates, Nix adds. Seasonal menu offerings include hors d’oeuvres such as Bourbon smoked shrimp and mini mufalleta; main dishes feature chicken, beef, pork or fish; and dessert pastries include pear Napoleon and Italian dolce.
One example of the team’s work will come together in the form of a Hollywood-themed holiday nonprofit gala, complete with a red carpet, star impersonators and spotlights lighting up the St. Louis sky, Nix says. “While the Palladium has been around for three years, we are continuing to invest money in improvements, and we’re still committed to doing nonprofit events that stand out.”
