St. Louis natives Stacy and Patrick Donohue moved to Clayton for its central location, walking community feel and exceptional school district. Stacy, a stay-at-home mom, and her husband, Patrick, who is in medical sales, have two kids, 10-year-old Andrew and 8-year-old Sarah, who each attend Meramec Elementary School. The family also has two English Cocker Spaniels, Cooper and Bourbon. Stacy spoke more about what they love in Clayton.
What are your favorite gathering spots in your neighborhood?
We are steps away from all the restaurants and shops in downtown Clayton. Our favorite gathering spots seem to revolve around food and drinks. The kids love to walk to Chill Frozen Yogurt. We love an evening out at Tani Sushi Bistro or Barcelona Tapas. And taking a walk or a run down Wydown Boulevard on a beautiful spring or fall day, then stopping at Starbucks before coming home, is probably one of our most favorite things to do.
What do you like best about living in Clayton?
The best thing about living in Clayton is the beauty. The tree-lined streets and the unique architecture of each and every home continues to leave us in awe. This neighborhood has such a rich history. We feel blessed to be able to share all that the community of Clayton has to offer with the lifelong friends we have met.
What’s your family's favorite neighborhood tradition?
We are a hockey family, so we truly enjoy the fireworks kickoff festivities on opening night of the Shaw Park Ice Rink. The kids love the tradition of heading over to the Shaw Park Aquatic Center with their classmates on the last day of school to kick off the start of summer vacation.
