Dr. George Duello grew up in St. Charles, where his grandfather, Dr. George Gross, was a dentist for 30 years. Following in his footsteps, Dr. Duello graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry in 1979, where he also received his master’s degree in oral biology and certificate in periodontology in 1981. After serving as Chief of Periodontics for two years for the U.S. Air Force at McDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Fla., Dr. Duello returned to St. Louis, where he has been in private practice for 25 years.
At Periodontics Ltd., Dr. Duello works with Dr. William Albair and Dr. Matthew Slaven to deliver healthy, glowing smiles. As a periodontist, who is an expert in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of gum and bone diseases caused by bacteria, Dr. Duello often provides patients with dental implants, from single teeth replacement to full arch replacement. He works with general dentists on numerous cosmetic procedures, like periodontal plastic surgery, to enhance a patient’s smile. He treats various forms of oral pathology and assists orthodontists with the treatment of their patients who have special needs like orthodontic exposures of adult teeth. Dr. Duello is now working with a new technology called TAD (temporary anchorage device), a small instrument used to facilitate orthodontic care.
Another new process used at the practice is cone beam CT technology, which allows Dr. Duello to perform 3-D diagnosis and treatment planning for minimally invasive dental implant surgery. He and his partners are devoted to learning the latest advances in periodontics to provide a personalized standard of excellence for optimal dental health. They work closely with patients to develop such a treatment plan, which ensures the most favorable results.
Dr. Duello was named a diplomat of the American Board of Periodontology in 1987 and is a member of the American Dental Society, Missouri Dental Society and Greater St. Louis Dental Society, of which he is past president. He is also past president of the Missouri Society of Periodontists.
