On Trend: Orange is the New Black
No, I’m not referring to the dark and addicting new Netflix series—nor am I making a cheeky Halloween pun. Orange actually is one of the hottest colors for fall (and, it appears, will continue to be big on the spring 2014 runways). A hue that can go from preppy (love the school-boy blazer) to sexy (obsessed with the leather detailing on the cocktail dress), orange is your new go-to when you’re tired of the same old fall neutrals.
On trend: Belt, $75, J. McLaughlin. Chanel sunglasses, $340, Neiman Marcus. Seven jeans, $169, Cha Boutique. MM Couture blouse, $85, Ivy Hill. Beaded necklace, $30, Alixandra Collections. Hunter boots, $140, Nordstrom. Alice & Olivia blouse, $275, Vie. Milly dress, $425, Esther. Prada bag, $1,890, Neiman Marcus. Beyond Vintage blouse, $198, Esther. Leopard dress, $195, J. McLaughlin. Blazer, $198, J.Crew.
Must-Have: Chain Gang
Keeping with the rocker trend that is so big for this season, the chunky chain choker is becoming the ‘it’ necklace for fall. More of a throwback to ‘90s hip hop style, you don’t have to be Rhianna to pull these off.
Everybody’s Wearing… Ash ‘Bowie’ sneakers
The wedge sneaker definitely is the go-to look for any stylish girl this fall. A cool hybrid of comfort and style, the Ash ‘Bowie’ is not just for hipsters or off-duty models, these lace-ups have been spotted on everyone from Julianne Moore to Anne Hathaway to Marion Cotillard.
Line I Love: Rag & Bone
Originating in New York in 2002, Rag & Bone has emerged as one of the most internationally renowned lines of its kind. Founded by Brits Nathan Bogle and Marcus Wainwright, the brand has become synonymous with wearable clothing that combines classic tailoring with an edgy and understated New York feel. Produced entirely in the States (Kentucky, to be exact), quality domestic craftmanship has become the core of the brand’s philosophy. A favorite of Gwyneth Paltrow, Emma Stone and Cameron Diaz, just to name a few, Rag & Bone not only is ‘of-the-moment,’ but is quickly becoming an iconic American brand.
Rag & Bone is available at Esther, Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue
Tiffany Atlas Collection
Known for it’s luxury and style for more than 175 years, Tiffany & Co. continues to evolve each of its storied collections. The latest to be revived is the Atlas collection. Modern in design and featuring its signature Roman numerals, the new collection takes shape in two sizes of bangles (one bordered in sparkling diamonds), a skinny fine-chained bracelet, band rings and an open medallion pendant. The seamless blend of new and classic design captures the essence of Tiffany - chic and sophisticated, the epitome of elegance.

Tess Giberson at Saks Fifth Avenue
Tess Giberson primarily has made a name for herself designing the sweaters everyone loves to wear (she was the Men’s Collection sweater designer at Calvin Klein, as well as the design director at TSE). However, in 2010, she decided to re-launch her eponymous line. The emphasis of the new collection is to speak to a strong, empowered woman. The line has been recognized for its minimal tailoring balanced with an extreme consideration to detail and experimentation with form, yet an overall ease to each garment. Her pieces are fashion-forward but not fussy. As part of St. Louis Fashion Week, Saks Fifth Avenue will be hosting a presentation of the fall line followed by a Q & A session with the designer. Ticket sales will benefit the Fashion Group International of Saint Louis Inc. scholarship fund.

Store hours: Monday-Friday 9:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sunday 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Australian active wear brand Lorna Jane has found a new home in Ladue.
Dimvaloo Active Living stocks Lorna Jane everything—from brightly colored tanks, bras and leggings, to socks, water bottles and workout bags. Styles change with each shipment, as Lorna Jane creates 60 to 100 new all-activity and ‘athleisure’ wear styles each month.
Owner Kate Duryea discovered Lorna Jane while on a trip to Australia to visit her brother. Duryea’s mother offered to buy her an outfit; immediately she tried on a tennis outfit, despite the fact that she didn’t play tennis.
“I said, I’ll play tennis for this!” Duryea recalls. “I’ll take up tennis for this outfit! I will join a country club for this outfit!”
Duryea opened Dimvaloo in June, and it remains the only store outside of Australia and California to carry Lorna Jane. The brand is known for its trademarked LJ Excel fabric, which is moisture-wicking, quick-drying, anti-pill, UV protective and durable. Duryea says she still wears the first Lorna Jane outfit she got in Australia. Dimvaloo also hopes to begin carrying men’s active wear in late October.
