ART IN MOTION:

The latest artist to collaborate with a fashion house is the legendary James Nares. Known for his exploration of gravity and weightlessness in a variety of mediums, Nares brings his brushstroke paintings as the signature element in a series of luxurious tote bags for Coach. “James is an art world icon, so we wanted to create something very special,” says Jason Weisenfeld, senior VP of the company’s Global Brand Communications and Collaborations. “When one of these bags is carried past you, you have the impression of a painting set in motion. They really are works of art.” And like most important art, there is a limited amount available: Only 175 of each color are being produced internationally, so make sure to snatch up one of these beauties quickly!

On Trend: Neon Sport

Designers must have had the upcoming Olympics on their minds as inspiration for summer. Sleek and minimal, the sporty look offers a fresh respite from the otherwise very feminine trends we’ve seen. Bold colors, a touch of neon, stripes and exposed zippers will add a kick to your wardrobe this season without looking like you’re heading to the gym.

MUST HAVE:

Colored Sunglasses

It’s no secret that color is all the rage right now and sunglasses are not missing out on this trend. Instead of reaching for the same old black or brown frames, try brightening up your face with one (or more) of these colored sunnies.

BRACELETS FOR A CAUSE

It seems everywhere I go, whether it be The Dailey Method or on a recent trip to NYC, I am spotting women wearing loads of bright and colorful rubber bracelets. Turns out, the bracelets are not only super cute but they are helping women and their communities halfway around the world. MADE WITH LOVE recycled rubber bracelets are made by a women’s cooperative in West Africa. By paying a fair price for their work, these bracelets provide the women with a viable means of support and are sold to raise funds for a homeless shelter in Senegal. Each set of 18 bracelets provides three days of care in the shelter. I love when a cool fashion statement is working for an incredible cause.
