Melissa Baranay & Michael Lewis

Mr. and Mrs. David and Tara Lewis of Ladue are delighted to announce the engagement of their son, Michael, to Melissa, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter and Nancy Baranay of South Bend, Indiana.

The bride-to-be earned her bachelor’s degree from Yale University and her Master in Global Health degree from The University of Notre Dame. Melissa is in her final year of medical school at Rush University in Chicago, with plans to specialize in pediatrics.

The future groom earned his bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University. He earned his J.D. and MBA from Loyola University Chicago. Michael works in Chicago at SAC Wireless, a developer of network infrastructure for telecommunications companies across the United States.

The couple plans to wed in May. The wedding will take place at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart on the Notre Dame campus.

Mr. and Mrs. Ronald E. and Anne Henges of St. Louis are pleased to announce the engagement of their granddaughter, Jessica Elizabeth, daughter of the late Dr. Lawrence Neil Henges Sr. of St. Louis and the late Ms. Mary Limbaugh of Ottawa, Illinois, to Brent James, son of Mr. and Mrs. William and Mitzi Fierro of Westlake Village, California, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard and Cynthia Smith of Manhattan Beach, California. Jessica is the stepdaughter of Mrs. Vanessa Alles Rempala Henges of Burbank, Illinois.

The bride-to-be graduated from Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School in 2006. In 2010, Jessica earned her bachelor’s degree in child development and managerial studies from Vanderbilt University. She went on to earn her master’s degree in fundraising management in 2013 from Columbia University. Jessica is an account manager at WeddingWire.

The future groom graduated with a bachelor’s degree in both finance and management from Georgetown University in 2009. He is a senior associate at FTV Capital.

On a frigid night in March 2012, Brent met Jessica at a party in New York City through a mutual friend. A month later the two went on their first date and immediately were inseparable. The couple moved in together, and one year to the date, Brent surprised Jessica with a rooftop proposal in front of family and friends. The couple will wed July 1 at Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. They currently reside on the Upper West Side of New York City with their golden retriever, Georgia.

Dr. and Mrs. James W. and Tracey Rhea of Warson Woods are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kaitlin Quinn, to David (Dave) Michael, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael and Judy Haenni of St. Peter’s. Grandparents of the bride-to-be include the late Mr. and Mrs. Jack and Patricia Quinn of Glendale, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Lyle and Rosemary Rhea of Springfield, Illinois; and the future groom’s grandparents include the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul and Mary Haenni of St. Louis, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward and Laverne Staebel of Ballwin.

The bride-to-be graduated from Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School in 2007. In 2011, she earned her bachelor’s degree in strategic communication from the School of Journalism at the University of Missouri - Columbia. She works as a data analyst at Nestlé Purina PetCare.

The future groom graduated from St. Louis University High School in 2003. In 2007, he earned his bachelor’s degree in marketing from the Farmer School of Business at Miami University. Dave is a sales specialist for SHOCO Oil Inc.

The couple first met through mutual friends at a Fourth of July party in 2012. After their first date at Barrister’s in Clayton, they knew they had something special, and as the story goes, “the rest was history.” This past March, the couple, who reside in Denver, flew in to celebrate the baptism of their niece as godparents. Dave suggested an impromptu visit to Barrister’s upon arrival. Once there, he popped the question, astonishing a delighted Kaitlin. Her mom continued the surprises with an engagement party that night for close friends and family. The couple will wed on May 27 in St. Louis, with plans to honeymoon in Maui and the Hawaiian islands.
