FRIDAY, MAY 25

TRACK AND FIELD

STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS, DWIGHT T. REED STADIUM IN JEFFERSON CITY, 9 A.M.—The first day of the Class 3 and 4 state meet gets underway with mostly qualifying heats for championship races on Saturday. There are, however, a handful of finals that will be held in the field events and distance races.

SATURDAY, MAY 26

BOYS’ LACROSSE

STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS, DIVISION I AND DIVISION II, AT LINDENWOOD UNIVERSITY, 1 P.M. AND 11 A.M.—The final four is a who’s who of area lacrosse talent. Top seeded MICDS and SLUH could possibly rematch in the Division I title game. John Burroughs or Webster Groves will play for the title in Division II after they butt heads in a semifinal match. The action will be fast, the hits will be fierce and a new champion will be crowned as Rockhurst was dumped by semifinalist Chaminade who’s reward is taking on top seed MICDS.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

QUARTERFINAL MATCHES, ALL CLASSES, SITES AND TIMES TBD—Among the juicier matchups we could see with trips to state on the line include a showdown of Incarnate Word and St. Joseph’s Academy, Cor Jesu and Pattonville, Visitation and St. Dominic. Regardless of who wins those matches, those trips to state will be hardfought and well-earned. Visit STLhighschoolsports.com for updated times and locations.
