FRIDAY, APRIL 6
BASEBALL
WEBSTER GROVES AT KIRKWOOD, 7 P.M.—Turkey Day gets all the glory in fall, but these two rivals could be playing tiddlywinks and both communities would be out in full force. This year, the game should be a dandy as the Statesmen have a hard-throwing lefty in Pete Fairbanks, who will pitch for Mizzou next spring.
SATURDAY, APRIL 7
BOYS’ TRACK AND FIELD
CHARLIE BECK INVITATIONAL AT UNIVERSITY CITY, 9 A.M.—The track season might be two weeks old, but it doesn’t truly get underway until everyone shows their wares at U. City. One of the elite meets of the season, U. City is out to showcase its own program as new coach Sean Burris takes over after a long, successful run as a co-head coach at Ladue.
GIRLS’ SOCCER
NERINX HALL AT WEBSTER GROVES, 11:30 A.M.—The battle for Webster Groves takes place on the pitch. The Markers boast a proud soccer tradition, but Webster has one of its best teams in recent memory. These two could meet again as they are in the same district tournament.
TRACK AND FIELD
SKIPPY KEEFER RELAYS AT JOHN BURROUGHS, 9 A.M.—This meet brings together programs of all kinds in the name of Skippy Keefer, a John Burroughs coaching legend. U. City has the big schools, but there is plenty of small school talent on display here, too.
MONDAY, APRIL 9
GIRLS’ SOCCER
URSULINE AT KIRKWOOD, 6 P.M.—This game is a bit of a rivalry. The Bears knocked out one of Kirkwood’s best soccer teams two years ago in the playoffs. The Pioneers would love nothing more than to pounce on what appears to be an inexperienced Ursuline.
TUESDAY, APRIL 10
BASEBALL
DUBOURG AT ST. MARY’S, 4:30 P.M.—This game is the rivalry to end all rivalries in South City. The Dragons host the Cavaliers on their new, stateof- the-art field. It was dedicated just last spring and is a true jewel. For those who haven’t popped by, this would be the perfect time.
GIRLS’ SOCCER
VISITATION AT INCARNATE WORD, 5:30 P.M.—The Vivettes continue to grind through a masochistic schedule. Viz travels to Incarnate after games with Nerinx Hall and Cor Jesu. There also is a date with Ursuline on Wednesday. Incarnate is the preseason No. 1 team.
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 11
GIRLS’ SOCCER
INCARNATE WORD AT NERINX HALL, 4:15 P.M.—The Markers have eyes on a possible playoff run and finding a way past a tough Incarnate Word would help.
THURSDAY, APRIL 12
BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL
SLUH AT VIANNEY, 6 P.M.—Metro Catholic Conference rivals collide in a matchup of the two best volleyball programs in the conference but also in the region—a humdinger for sure!
TRACK AND FIELD
HENLE HOLMES INVITATIONAL AT PARKWAY CENTRAL, 4 P.M.—The first day of a two-day event, Henle Holmes will showcase the best of the best in St. Louis.
