FRIDAY, APRIL 13

BASEBALL

DE SMET AT CHAMINADE, 4:15 P.M.—After a huge win over state-ranked, No.1 Vianney, Chaminade is riding high and hoping to use that victory to springboard it into the thick of the Metro Catholic Conference race.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

ST. LOUIS SOCCER CLASSIC AT ST. JOSEPH’S ACADEMY, 3-6 P.M.— St. Joe brings together some of the area’s top programs to face some of the best teams in the Midwest. Among those expected to participate in this two-day event are Shawnee Mission East (which plays Incarnate Word) and Blue Valley Northwest (which takes on Nerinx Hall). Also in the field are Cor Jesu, Parkway South, Granite City, Lafayette, Marquette and the host Angels.

MICDS VS. LADUE AT LADUE’S EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION CAMPUS, 4 P.M.—The War on Warson takes to the pitch as the ladies duke it out at the former home of Westminster Christian Academy.

TRACK & FIELD

HENLE HOLMES MEET AT PARKWAY CENTRAL, 4 P.M.—The finale of the two-day, mini-state meet. This is where you’re going to see record breaking performances and a preview of things to come in the postseason.

WATER POLO

DE SMET INVITATIONAL AT ST. PETER’S REC-PLEX, 3-9 P.M.—The top teams from St. Louis and Chicago powerhouse Fenwick see who’s the best in a roundrobin style, jam-packed into two days. St. Louis University High, the area’s most dominant program, could tussle with its Chicago doppelganger in Fenwick. If you’re a fool for the pool, this is where you’ll want to be.

SATURDAY, APRIL 14

LAFAYETTE AT MARQUETTE, 10 A.M.—Marquette has depended on the arm of Matt Hink to keep them in ball games as he has a team low 0.82 earned run average in a team-high 17 innings pitched. Lafayette will go to William DuPont to carry the offensive load.

MICDS AT JOHN BURROUGHS, 11 A.M.—The annual matchup of rivals is always heated, but this year, both the Rams and Bombers have highly touted teams. MICDS’s offense has been dynamite, while Burroughs is relying on its pitching, speed and defense to give its opponents trouble.

SLUH AT ST. MARY’S, 2:30 P.M.—SLUH has dominated the city baseball scene. St. Mary’s has struggled against larger programs with lop-sided losses to Vianney, Lindbergh and Oakville.

BOYS’ LACROSSE

DE SMET AT SLUH, 5 P.M.—St. Louis University High is on a mission this season. De Smet went 5-13 last year but is trying to build for the future. Giving the Junior Billikens a good tussle would be a step in the right direction.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

ST. LOUIS SOCCER CLASSIC AT ST. JOSEPH’S ACADEMY, 9 A.M.-3 P.M.—The second day of the round-robin event, this day features Nerinx Hall taking on Parkway South, St. Joe vs. Shawnee Mission East and Nerinx Hall vs. Cor Jesu at noon.

WATER POLO

DE SMET INVITATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP AT ST. PETERS REC-PLEX, 8 P.M.— The tournament wraps up with its biggest match.
