FRIDAY, MARCH 30

GIRLS’ SOCCER

URSULINE AT COR JESU, 4 P.M.—Ursuline is coming off a runner-up finish last year, while Cor Jesu took third the year before that. Both teams believe they have what it takes to make another deep run into the postseason.

MONDAY, APRIL 2

GIRLS’ SOCCER

ST. DOMINIC AT ST. JOSEPH’S ACADEMY, 4 P.M.—The Angels lost to Ursuline in the district final last year in penalty kicks. St. Joe will get a good test against a St. Dominic team that is among the toughest small schools around.

WATER POLO DE SMET VS. SLUH AT FOREST PARK COMMUNITY COLLEGE, 5 P.M.—SLUH, the most dominant water polo program in town, takes on league rival and contender De Smet for an early season show down.

TUESDAY, APRIL 3

BASEBALL

WESTMINSTER AT JOHN BURROUGHS, 4:15 P.M.—The defending champion Wildcats take on perennial contender John Burroughs. The last team to beat Westminster: John Burroughs. The Bombers are loaded with speed and return six seniors to their starting lineup.

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

VIANNEY AT OAKVILLE, 6 P.M.—Vianney has owned the small schools, as it has won 16 state titles. Oakville finally broke through for its first last year behind a talented core of seniors. But there is plenty of talent returning for the Tigers. This should be one of the best matches of the season.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

VISITATION AT COR JESU, 4 P.M.—When the Vivettes travel to Cor Jesu, it’ll be a great matchup of individual talents as they trot out Jade Klump, and the Chargers pin their hopes on Jenn Miller.

ST. JOSEPH’S ACADEMY AT OAKVILLE, 6 P.M.—One of the top private programs takes on what is expected to be one of the top public schools this spring. The Tigers are loaded with club team talent and, after their boys’ team was the runner-up, are looking to add their own hardware to the trophy case.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 4

BASEBALL

VIANNEY AT CBC, 4:15 P.M.—The rivalry game that isn’t a rivalry, at least if you believe Vianney coach and former CBC coach Scott Brown. CBC won a state title after it fired Brown with his son, Matt, leading the charge. Now both Browns are at Vianney and chasing a trip to the final four.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

URSULINE AT INCARNATE WORD, 4 P.M.—Annie Beekman returns to her roots. The former Incarnate Word coach and graduate takes on the Red Knights she helped lead to two state championships. This clash of MWAA rivals could be a precursor to a playoff meeting with grand implications.

THURSDAY, APRIL 5

BASEBALL

SLUH AT DE SMET, 11 A.M.—Easter Break begins early as these two powerhouses collide in a Metro Catholic Conference showdown. The Junior Billikens haven’t missed the playoffs since the early ’80s. De Smet and coach Greg Vitello are always a threat to make a run—no matter the year.

BOYS’ LACROSSE

MICDS AT CBC, 7:30 P.M.—MICDS took runner-up honors last season, and CBC is out to prove it belongs in the championship conversation. Phil McFarland will lead the Cadets into what should be an ultra-competitive tilt. These two could meet again in the playoffs.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

NERINX HALL AT COR JESU, 4 P.M.—Regional and MWAA rivals collide as the Markers go south to take on the Chargers. These two programs both fell short of their playoff goals a season ago and return strong cores.
