> Moxy Bistro in the Central West End may have closed, but chef-owner ERIC BRENNER is staying busier than ever. Brenner and many of his staffers have moved to Molly’s in Soulard, where he continues as executive chef and is currently revising the menu. He’ll also carry on with his chef consulting work, which includes some 14 Isle of Capri and Lady Luck casino properties.

> Congrats to GERARD CRAFT for being named a 2010 James Beard Award finalist. Is this the year Craft takes home the ‘Best Chef: Midwest’ title? Keep your fingers crossed. The winner will be announced at an awards ceremony in NYC on May 3.

> Has it been two years already since Winslow’s Home in U. City opened its doors? Stop by the general store-cafe on April 4 when owner ANNE LIPTON and her staff will be handing out free slices of cake to customers. And once the growing season gets underway, look for a produce table out front stocked with herbs, veggies and other farm-fresh fare from Lipton’s farm in Augusta.

> Spanish food snobs can delight in the latest offering that’s arrived in St. Louis from the land of Iberian ham, Manchego cheese and Rioja wine. Modesto Tapas Bar & Restaurant on The Hill is now carrying Inedit, a beer crafted by chef FERRAN ADRIÀ at elBulli in Spain. Inedit is a combination of barley, malt and wheat, flavored with coriander, orange peel and licorice, and developed specifically to be paired with food. Forget the can: Inedit comes in a 750 ml wine bottle and is properly imbibed from a white wine glass, filled halfway.

> Gateway Pet Guardians has teamed up with The Pasta House Company for the second annual Pasta for Pets. On April 15, eat at the restaurant’s Fairview Heights location and a portion of your bill will be donated to Gateway Pet Guardians. Evening festivities include a cocktail party and silent and live auctions. At last year’s fundraiser, Gateway Pet Guardians and The Pasta House Co. raised $6,000 to help homeless animals in the St. Louis area. For more information, visit gatewaypets.com.
